Amanda Martin is a veteran Pilates teacher returning to Athens from New York City. Her thriving studio has made a name for itself for its warmth and sense of community. By crossing the boundaries of fitness and rehabilitation she speaks to the needs of a diverse clientele of women and men, young and old, athlete and osteoporosis sufferer.
She is certified in Pilates through the Kane School of Core Integration which offers a unique approach to realignment through proper biomechanics and manual touch. Her teaching offers clients an opportunity to explore their movement habits and restore balance.
She is also certified in GYROKINESIS® instruction. Through these two methods, her teaching philosophy pulls from her diverse dance and fitness backgrounds to provide an educational and creative movement experience.
In 2012, she co-founded the Underground Dance Society, an Athens-based collective of artists experimenting with traditional and site-specific performance for the community.
Kaleen Canevari has been teaching Pilates since the beginning of 2014. Her focus is on building the strength and proper muscle coordination that enables clients to enjoy the daily activities that give their lives meaning. As an avid soccer player, runner, and kid-at-heart, Kaleen has first-hand experience with the devastation that pain and injury can bring to everyday living, and the restorative power that Pilates brings to diverse lifestyles.
Her training began while she was an engineer for Balanced Body, the largest Pilates equipment manufacturer in the world. While there, she had the privilege to work with industry greats like Nora St. John, Joy Puleo, and Viktor Uygan.
When she isn't teaching she runs a Pilates equipment maintenance business called The Fit Reformer.
